A massive congratulations to Hastings Lifeboat crew member Simon Hodgson who received his 30 year RNLI Long Service Award tonight!

Members of the crew joined Simon in the Dolphin Inn to celebrate this massive achievement.

Simon, who is currently ALB crew and a Tractor Driver at the station has many amazing memories from his time at Hastings including countless service calls, attending the Lewes floods in 2000 and receiving the Institutions ‘Thanks on Vellum’ for a service call in 2006 that saw Simon helm the Inshore Lifeboat in treacherous conditions to try to save the life of a swimmer.

Area Lifesaving Manager, Allen Head and Hastings RNLI Operations Manager, Peter Adams presented Simon with his award.
