Crew and Launchers Nominated for Award

The Crew and Launchers of the Hastings Lifeboat Station have won a Hastings Acheivers award.

They were nominated and selected as a finalist in the 'Courage' category.

The Awards evening was held on Tuesday 9th of October at the Hastings Centre.

The Coxswain and a number of the crew and launchers attended the evening ceremony.

The aim of the acheivers awards is to recognise the efforts of local people in various aspects of the lcommunity and at the same time raising money for local charitys.

All the catagories have a corporate sponsor and the event aims to raise about £20,000 for local charitys, one of which is the RNLI at Hastings.

Martin Phillips, Coxswain of Hastings Lifeboat, said, 'It is an honour for individuals and the team to be nominated for awards like this, particularly for local recognition. To win the category was very pleasing, and we are all very grateful to those people who nominated us.'
